About Us

About Us

The School of Nursing at the University of Wollongong enjoys an excellent reputation both academically and clinically, within the nursing profession. This is manifested in several ways, most notably:

  • UOW nursing graduates enjoy excellent employment prospects with 91.8% in full-time employment within four months of graduating compared to the national average of 80.3% (QILT).
  • 98.1% of UOW Nursing graduates are in full-time, part-time or casual employment four months after completing their course compared to the national average of 94.8% (QILT).
  • Nursing in urban areas is often specialisation based, while rural and regional practices favour nurses who can work across multiple areas as needed. Your UOW education will prepare you for either setting.

We are also seen as a place where excellent research takes place. Being within a Science, Medicine and Health Faculty, we are in a position to support research students with a diverse range of interests and to offer opportunities for multidiscplinary research.
